    Healthy Snacks

    • SMOOTHIES
Smoothies and delicious treats that you can make an entire meal out of. The best part .. you can be creative. For a basic recipe, add plain yogurt to a blender with ice, some cranberry juice and a touch of honey. Then let the fun begin! Add fruits like strawberries, bananas, blueberries, raspberries, you get the picture. Serve them in little shot glasses with a sprig of mint & a blueberry on top or with brightly colored straws & umbrellas. Your kids will love them and never know they're drinking something healthy!
    • GOOD VS BAG
When it comes to snacking there's definitely the "good" and the "bad". But when hunger strikes and there's nothing standing between you and a bag of potato chips (except the plexi glass of the vending machine), your common (eating) sense sometimes gets lost. Here's a quick lesson on what to choose and what to stay clear of. (1) Choose pretzels overs chips. With no added fats or sugars, these crunchy little snacks are a good way to curb hunger. Plus the portion-controlled bag keeps your intake to "snack-size". (2) Choose almonds or peanuts over candy. Packed with protein and good fats, a small bag of nuts will give you tons of energy. (3) Choose peanut butter crackers over cheesy-puffs or tortilla chips. They have a little more (good) fat then say pretzels, but they've also got some fiber.
